ORIGIN OF THE VARIETY
Rose variety ‘Ausmixture’ / 'Olivia Rose Austin' originated by David Austin by crossing an unnamed, unpatented seedling with an unnamed, unpatented seedling.
BACKGROUND OF THE VARIETY
The primary objective of this rose variety breeding was to create a new rose variety having cupped buds that gradually open to become large shallow-cupped fragrant rosettes of a soft pink with excellent disease resistance and vigor, and which repeat-flowers well.
SUMMARY OF THE VARIETY
The objective was achieved, along with other important improvements, and this rose variety incorporated the following unique combination of characteristics:
vigorous, large shallow-cupped quartered rosettes having a soft shade of pink;
strong, fruity fragrance;
excellent disease resistance and shiny foliage.
Asexual reproduction of this variety by budding showed that the foregoing and all other characteristics and distinctions came true to form, established and transmitted through the succeeding propagations.

The ‘Ausmixture’ / ‘Olivia Rose Austin’ may be distinguished from its seed parent, by the following combination of characteristics:
the seed parent is more disease prone and less free flowering, but with slightly fuller flowers compared to ‘Ausmixture’ / ‘Olivia Rose Austin’.

The pollen parent is apricot in color with blooms that have more of a hybrid-tea shaped flowers.

the ‘Ausjosiah’ / ‘The Wedgwood Rose’ has a bloom that is more rounded, whereas ‘Ausmixture’ / ‘Olivia Rose Austin’ has a cupped bloom.
