Description

Lemon Piano is another wonderful sport of classic ‘Piano’ variety but differs a bit from other ‘Piano’ varieties with its more globular shape which is almost never opens to flat, but instead having more of the rosette shape Flowers are medium sized, very full, with an average diameter of the open flower of 6 – 8 cm. They are usually gathered in small, globular clusters of 3-5 blooms per stem. The flowers have tender lemon-yellow color when the flowers start to open and become more cream as the flower ages.

Petals are thin and round, about 3.6 cm in width and 4.9 cm long, and have smooth texture. Number of petals under the normal conditions is 91 in average. Their margin is smooth, base apex shape is rounded and their edges are slightly quilled. Petals drop off cleanly before drying and lasts about 16 days on the plant and about 10 days in cut at normal conditions.

As all ‘Piano’ varieties thee flowers have no aroma.

The plant forms medium bush with upright growth habit. It has 7 leaflets on normal stem, are medium, about 12 cm long and 8 cm wide. Leaflets about 5.4 cm long and 3.5 cm wide, pointed, oval and leathery, have very attractive dark-green colour.

Blooms very well in flushes through the season.

Proved to have quite good resistance to rust, mildew and blackspot under normal growing conditions.
