FLOWER
The rose variety ‘Jeanne Moreau’ has early and recurrent blooming habit, flowers in flushes from early summer until frosts.

Flower bud:
Flower buds are large, the bud form is long, pointed ovoid. When the sepals first divide, the bud colour is white green. As the bud continues to open, the colour changes to white.

Bloom:
Flowers are very large; the average diameter of the open flowers is about 14 – 15 cm (5 inches). They are verry full, packed with many petals, the average petals count is about 100 petals. The shape of the flowers is high-centered at the opening, and as the flower fully opens it reveals a quartered rosette in the center, and the edges of the petals slightly curl back.

When the flowers just open, they have white colour with cream-yellow shades closer to the base of the petals. As the flower ages, the colour becomes pure white with blueish shades. The flowers last on a plant for quite a long time - about 8 to 10 days, and as a cut flower about 7 to 10 days under normal conditions. Therefore, they are recommended for cut and floral arrangements.

Fragrance:
The fragrance is strong, intoxicating, fresh, filled with notes of lemon and spice.

PLANT
The variety has moderately vigorous and strong growth habit. Forms upright and bushy plant. The mature and well-established plant has a height of about 80 to 100 cm and a width of about 50 – 70 cm.

Foliage:
The quantity of foliage is normal, number of leaflets on a normal mid-stem leaf is 5. The leaves are large, new foliage on the upper and lower sides are medium brown green, while the old foliage is dark green on the upper side and medium brown green on the lower side. The leaflets have a pointed oval shape, the texture on the upper side is leathery and semi-glossy. Their edges are serrated, the type of serration is single and small.

Disease resistance:
The variety has moderate resistance to black spot, mildew and botrytis. The resistance to rust is good. Pest resistance not tested.

The variety is recommended for growing in climate zones similar to USDA 6 and warmer, requires a winter protection in more colder climates.
