DESCRIPTION OF THE VARIETY
FLOWERING
This rose variety has repeat flowering habit, blooms in flushes, from early summer until frosts.
Flower bud:
The flower buds are large, the shape is ovate with pointed tip. The colour of the flower bud when the sepals start to divide is white green with carmine red at the edges of the petals. They are born mostly singly.
The margin of the sepals often has large foliaceous appendages usually on 3 of the 5 sepals. The colour of the upper surface of the sepals is medium green.
The peduncle is strong, erect, and about 14 - 15 cm long, the surface is smooth and slightly hirsute in the lower part. The colour of the peduncle is near medium green, often with brown red intonations.
Bloom:
The flowers are large, the average diameter of the open flower is about 10 – 11 cm (4”). The flowers have high-centered shape. The flower shape persists until the end, the edges of the petals curl back. Flowers are double, the average petals count is about 20 – 25 petals under normal growing conditions.
When the flowers have just opened the colour of the major part of the outer petals on the upper surface is white with ivory shade with bright carmine red colour closer to the edges; the under surface is white with ivory and silver shades and larger portion of the bright carmine red closer to the edges. The inner petals are of the same colour, but with the smaller portion of the carmine red on the edges. The general tonality from a distance at the end of the first day is white with carmine red edges.
The general tonality of the flowers by the end of the 3rd day doesn’t change much, however the portion of the carmine red on the edges increase while the colour become slightly lighter.
The flowers have good lasting quality: on the plant they last about 8 – 10 days; and as a cut flower about 7 - 9 days under normal growing conditions.
