Phenotypic expression may vary with environmental, cultural and climatic conditions, as well as differences in conditions of light and soil.
FLOWERING
This rose variety has a continuous flowering habit. This rose variety was primarily bred for cut flower production in greenhouse conditions. In greenhouse conditions, it is able to bloom all year round.

The flower buds of Emily rose variety are medium sized, about 3.5 cm long and 2.3 cm in diameter when the petals start to unfurl. The bud form is pointed ovoid. Flowers are very full, the number of petals under normal conditions is 140-150. They are born singly or in small clusters of 5-6 buds together, in clusters that have corymb shape. The flowering stems are strong, long, and have an average length of about 45-50 cm. If you prefer to use the flowers for cut flower production the buds may be nipped out to leave a single bloom, which leads to larger and more beautifully shaped single flowers.
The colour of the upper sides of the petals is medium purple red (Group N66B) and the reverse sides of the petals are medium blue pink (Group N66D) with veins clearly visible and the base having dark blue pink colour (Group N66C). The variegations is not observed on the flowers of this variety.

ORIGIN OF THE VARIETY
Rose variety ‘Ausglade’ / 'Emily' originated by David Austin by crossing an unnamed, unpatented seedling with an unnamed, unpatented seedling.
BACKGROUND OF THE VARIETY
The primary objective of this rose variety breeding was to create a new rose variety a plant suitable for year round production under standard greenhouse conditions having deep pink blooms with a strong myrrh fragrance and long vase life, which are produced on strong upright stems.
SUMMARY OF THE VARIETY
The objective was achieved, along with other important improvements, and this rose variety incorporated the following unique combination of characteristics:
Deep pink blooms with a strong myrrh fragrance;
A long vase life;
Strong upright stem, which makes it suitable for year round cut flower production under standard greenhouse conditions.
Asexual reproduction of the new variety by budding as performed in greenhouses at Bowling Green Lane in Albrighton, Britain shows that the foregoing and other distinguishing characteristics come true to form and are established and transmitted through succeeding asexual propagations. ‘Ausglade’ / 'Emily' may be asexually propagated by budding and grafting.
COMPARISON WITH PARENTS
The ‘Ausglade’ / ‘Emily’ may be distinguished from its seed parent, by the following combination of characteristics:
whereas the parent has red blooms with a pale reverse, ‘Ausglade’ / ‘Emily’ bears flowers of deep pink.
The ‘Ausglade’ / ‘Emily’ may be distinguished from its pollen parent by the following combination of characteristics:
The pollen parent bears red blooms, ‘Ausglade’ / ‘Emily’ bears flowers of a deep pink. In addition, ‘Ausglade’ / ‘Emily’ bears blooms that are quartered, whereas the pollen parent bears blooms that are rosette shaped.
COMPARISON WITH THE CLOSEST COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE CULTIVAR
The most similar rose cultivars to the ‘Ausglade’ / ‘Emily’ are the ‘Ausimmon’ / ‘Miranda’ and may be distinguished by the following combination of characteristics:
‘Ausimmon’ / ‘Miranda’ has fewer petals, medium pink blooms and more prickles compared to ‘Ausglade’ / ‘Emily’, which has a greater number of petals, pink to mauve blooms and fewer prickles.
