Description

Old Gallica rose, with delicate light pink flowers darker in the center that have a strong aroma.

The flowers are large, 7-8 cm, terry (26-40 petals), cup-shaped, often drooping, blooming from tightly rolled almost crimson buds. It blooms for a long time once in spring or early summer, it is one of the first to bloom.

Forms arching plant of about 100-150 cm high, and up to 90 cm wide with elegant, arching branches. The foliage is large, bright medium green. Has very good disease resistance to most common rose pathogens.

Name origin

Named after Marie-Thérèse Charlotte of France, Duchess of Angoulême. She was the eldest child of King Louis XVI and Queen Marie Antoinette of France, and their only child to reach adulthood. In 1799 she married her cousin Louis Antoine, Duke of Angoulême, the eldest son of Charles, Count of Artois, henceforth becoming the Duchess of Angoulême.
