Description
Once flowering Mose rose variety with occasional repeat flowering later in the season.
The flowers are medium to large, about 8 cm in diameter. Upon opening have globular shape, which changes gradually to cupped. The colour of the flowers is bright pink-red. The flowers are full and strongly scented.
The variety has vigorous, bushy and arching growth habit. Can be trained as a small climber. The mature and well-established plant has a height of about 120 – 210 cm and the width of about 120 cm on average at the end of the growing season.
The foliage is dark green, medium sized and matt. The buds well mossy. The stems well armed with prickles and spines.
Winter hardy in zones similar to USDA 6 and warmer.
Name origin
Has unclear naming history. Named after either the musician Baron de Wassenaer or the Dutch vice-admiral, who gained admiration for his heroism in a naval battle against the French in 1696.
